In keeping with the modern roller derby custom of community support, The BisMan Bombshellz donated $750 from their October 29, 2011 Fright Night Bout to ND Women’s Way.
Women’s Way provides low-income, uninsured and underinsured eligible North Dakota women ages 40 through 64 access to most breast and cervical cancer screenings and follow-up care. www.ndhealth.gov/womensway
“October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and we wanted to show our support of an organization committed to providing a way for women to pay for early detection of breast and cervical cancer” stated the roller derby league’s president, Amy Hendrickson. “As an organization mostly made up of women, this is a important cause for us, several league members have been personally affected with family members having breast cancer.”
